We&#8217;re both voice actors; so getting into this business came naturally to us. I decided I wanted to get out of the studio in my free time, as I&#8217;ve always loved the outdoors. That, and sitting behind a computer screen all day editing doesn&#8217;t encourage weight loss! So field recording just seemed a natural fit. I can record AND get outside. Can&#8217;t complain about that!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m hoping to present my recordings with some context. I often hear recordings and wonder how they were achieved or what lengths the author needed to go through in order to capture them. Typically, there is just a few pictures of the area and the recording itself. So I&#8217;m hoping to go pic by pic and walk you through my journey to capture the sounds &#8211; a sort of &#8220;tour guide&#8221; if you will.<\/p>\n<p>I hope this approach proves interesting to you! This eventually led to me purchasing a dual sport motorcycle \u2013 two in fact. Slowly my field recordings became less and less until I was riding off-road exclusively. This has led to many great adventures that I decided to share here. Hiking seemed a natural extension to the off-roading for me. Many hiking trails begin at the end of a motorcycle trail. So I would often follow them on foot, wondering where they would take me. I didn\u2019t want to forget these hiking trips, so I decided to write about them here. Hopefully they\u2019ll be interesting and helpful to you. Since my first peak, JiuBaoShan \u2013 \u4e45\u4fdd\u5c71 in April of 2018, I\u2019ve hiked to nearly 70 peaks in Taiwan and had a ton of adventures! Taiwan is such a great country to hike. I\u2019m really lucky to have chosen here to live. I was a brand ambassador for Six Moons Designs as part of their 2020 and 2021 International Ambassador Team. They make lightweight, high quality, affordable backpacking equipment. I\u2019m really excited to be a part of their team.
